Well that is exactly what I had when I was in the villa from February until June. I'm sure it's hot for the summer but from October through June it was wonderful. And having the 6' courtyard wall was a wonderful thing. There were no bugs, not even flies that I noticed. When it got warm during the day I just closed the doors and windows and had the a/c on.
When we lived in Florida in the 70's I hated it. I thought you just had to live with all the bugs and creatures. Ewwwwww! But then I found out you can live in a community where everyone takes care of their property and sprays for bugs on a regular basis. I changed my mind quickly. It's a different kind of community, certainly not for everyone. But it's a good fit for us. The place is filled with 100,000 residents and there is an activity for anything and everything. The majority of people are really friendly and everyone has been very welcoming.
I think there is something not to like in just about every part of the country but you'll find a place. I think if I could move anyplace it would have to be summers in Maine, in a little house above the ocean cliffs, and fall - spring in my Villages villa. Unfortunately, my lottery numbers have not come through for me....
