ok why would you take the meatloaf out of the pan?

Just saw this done & it fell apart & did not look at all like a meatloaf.

It was just a pile of chunk-ed up meat.

If it had been me I would have left it in a pan..To be sliced....scratch

I've done meatloaf on the grill. I made a 'pan' out of foil which made it easier to remove the loaf from the grill. It gave it a fantastic flavor. I haven't done that for a while, but it used to be a family favorite.

We did one on the grill recently, too, Jana, since I didn't want to use the oven and made the mistake of mentioning meatloaf, one of Brian's favorites. I never make it in a meatloaf pan anymore but just "form" it into a loaf on a baking sheet with a rim. We prefer it that way instead of how it sits in the grease in a meatloaf pan. It did have a very nice flavor!
