When we lived in Chicago there was a blueberry farm southwest of the city  Every year we would go there and pick about 45-50 lbs.  We had them all year.  I don't think a blueberry is grown within a million miles of Phoenix  I hate paying $3 for 6.6 oz of blueberries.

I wish we had blueberry farm here too... it's too expensive to buy them at the stores here.. my FIL does not like blueberry and raspberry now because he ate them too much when he grew up,  they were free and they grew everywhere around his house Smile

We grew raspberries when I was a child.  Dad planted a huge area...probably 10 rows that were 50' long.  We kids were allowed to keep any money we made from picking and selling them.  We sold them for fifty cents a quart...and had to buy the quart baskets at the farm bureau for 2 cents each.

After about 10 years we got invaded by little black beetles that ruined the berries before they were ripe.  One spring dad decided enough was enough and he chopped the plants down and plowed the area so we didn't have to pick raspberries ever again.  It just kills me to pay ridiculous prices for half pints....
