what a mess

we are to get some nasty wind/rain tonight so I brought my grills inside

my weber q ci grates looked bad .. so I decided to clean them.

greasy mess mess mess.there must be a better way, then in the sink with hot water & brush & dawn..

I have been wanting ci for my my other grill(s)$50 for a small one for the smokey joe the grill was only $30..
so I decided to just want it.

now with the clean up, I am kinda glad I don't have them.

I've read how you can pit your grill grates into a large heavy trash bags and spray with oven cleaner, let 'em sit overnight and then rinse with a garden hose. Don't know if it works or not. Seems to me you would still have to scrub 'em in the sink....

I went over to weber forum (talk about some awesome food pics )most of them say just put it on high & let it cook off,then brush good.that seems ok but I kinda like to get that mess of baked crud off.I soaked it in dawn. being ci I guess I will have to grease it up with canola.

When our grill and smoker (both Weber), Brian just cleans the grills with a steel brush once it gets hot. It works very well, trust me.

You must just be cleaner than us, Barb!
