When I got up this morning and went into the kitchen I could hear a hissing sound by the refrigerator. I couldn't figure what it was. Suddenly I noticed a flood of water coming out from under the refrigerator and pooling all along the baseboards.....water, water EVERYWHERE!

I yelled to Mr. Amazing to HELP.....guess who was still sleeping??? I was unrolling two rolls of paper towels to try to soak up the flood going all over my floor. The last thing I wanted was to let it soak into the dining room laminate floor and then we'd have a catosphrosphe.

Dane discovered there was a pin-hole in the plastic line to the ice maker. The hissing noise we heard was the tiny but powerful stream of water spewing from that hole and hitting the bottom of the refrigerator. Thank goodness he was home because I had no idea where the shutoff for the waterline was....go figure. After he shut off the water he just kind of shrugged and the went back to bed.

I'm waiting for the paper towels to finish soaking the water from under the baseboards before I go and start the cleanup.....

That happened to me several years ago. I discovered it soon enough and turned off the water and mopped it up and called the plumber. He came out the same day and fixed it. He didn't fix it. It started leaking again and this time I didn't notice until it was a real mess. I had to use the water vac to get it all up.

We made a run to Home Depot. He got a bunch of other stuff he needed and then picked up a new waterline. Turns out the old one was completely clogged with sediment. He says he's got it fixed...claims there are no more leaks. I had hoped he could replace the entire water line but he says it goes in a wall, behind the furnace and then through a hole in another wall....who installs water lines like that??? Oh, gee, maybe "amazing" men do...lol
