Breakfast for me ( Tina didn't want any ), was French Toast, and little pork browned and frozen sausages. I fried the toast last night, so all I had to do was heat it up in the electric skillet.
No waiting, no mess, and ready to eat in 5 minutes.
0 pics. I scoffed them down in 5 minutes flat!

Every once in a while I get hungry for French toast.....and, like you, it gets eaten long before I consider taking a pic of my meal. I mean, it's READY TO EAT!!! LOL

Today, I made it in time to call it breakfast.
I had an omelet with using egg beaters, cheese, and green onions chopped.
A little hot sauce, and a fresh toasted English Muffin with no butter.

Tina went on a specialty trip down to a Wegmans store to get some packs of crumpets.
She likes them toasted with berry jam. Too bad they are a 45 minute drive away. No other supermarket carries them in our area.
It's like that Cabots shaker cheese for popcorn. I had to order it from Vermont because they don't supply it here to our stores. Cheese... yes, but not the shaker cheese. Tina loves it on her popcorn. Me... I don't like it. It smells like stinky ass.

I don't know why you find it unusual for someone to drive 45 minutes for a special food craving. I think that's perfectly normal behavior. Something I do all the time. And you can tell Tina I said, "You GO, Girl!"

LOL

.....Nothing stops that girl .....
She is a go getter; like you Beth. She got her Crumpets.
Now, I am going to have one. Apricot preserves on mine though!

That's what Brian made me this morning, except with pepper jelly! I can't believe we used Bay's English muffins for all those years when Jimmy plainly told me that Thomas's were better. Boy, are they good! Brian loves 'em as well. He bought some once when the grocery (the Px I think) was out of Bay's. Our lucky day for sure.

I laughed when Beth followed this message of yours with those little roly poly guys laughing -- they NEVER fail to make me laugh, no matter how often I see them!

You've got to let us know if you get one of these gizmos, Jimmy. Whenever I see the ad, I always think they must sell a lot of them. Not to me but to somebody. Hope you're the somebody as I'll bet your story about using the gizmo would be hysterical!

Tina is looking in the WalMarts in the area. They have a section for that stuff. If it fails to work.... right back to the store for credit.

Dane got home about 10:30 p.m. last night.....I had intended to stay awake, watching TV in the bedroom and then help him take some stuff out of the car. Well, you KNOW how that turned out ~ he scared the heck out of me when he opened the bedroom door as I was 'resting my eyes'......

Whenever he gets home from a trip I know he's going to want something comforting and 'light' so I made stock out of my roasted chicken bones. I added some boxed stock, carrots, celery and a little onion and, there you go, Chicken Soup. I asked him if he wanted homemade noodles or the 'curly' ones and he opted for homemade. If it was difficult I probably wouldn't have asked, but you know (as I've shown a number of times) how easy it is to mix flour, salt (& pepper, my personal preference) with egg yolk....knead until thick and smooth ~ then roll out and cut into strips to drop in the boiling stock. Easy Peasy!

He did appreciate it, as well as the chicken sandwich he made from the leftover chicken breast.

I just love how much I can do with one little roast chicken. (He has strict instructions to NOT eat any more of the chicken breast because it's destined for chicken enchiladas.)

Glad every body's belly is full! Thanks to your magic chicken.
Tina just made us pancakes. They hit the spot. ( for me, the Belly )

Every once in a while I get hungry for pancakes....that's why I like the 'Just-Add-Water' mix to keep in my pantry. I can make just a small amount (usually enough for 3 pancakes) and then I don't have leftovers to try to remember to eat when I really don't want them.

Dane is one lucky man! I know those homemade noodles are "easy" for you but he's lucky you even offered to make them. Did you have them made already when he came home? If you got up right then and there and made homemade noodles, you are one heck of a wife, Missy!

Michelle.....it takes 10 minutes, tops, to mix, knead & roll and cut noodles.

Here are the written instructions again:  in a small bowl beat one egg and one egg yolk with a pinch of salt & pepper.  When combined add a little flour at a time until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl.  Scrape out the bowl and knead on a well floured board, pushing & turning and adding more flour until you have a smooth, 'Play Dough' type dough.  Flatten into a disk, cover with plastic and allow to rest for 10 minutes or so.

Then, roll with a rolling pin with a good amount of flour to desired thickness.  It's OK to have extra flour as you don't want the dough to stick to your board and the additional flour only adds to the thickening of your soup.

When rolled to a round, cut into 2" strips.  Place strips on top of one another, cut into half or thirds and stack all together.  Cut into desired width of noodles ~ I usually do less than 1/4" ~ and when done slicing, add a bit more flour and separate with your fingers.

At this point you can slowly drop them into BOILING soup stock.  If it's not boiling you will end up with a gigantic blob of icky dough stuck to the bottom of your soup pot (don't ask me how I know this).  Allow to simmer at a low boil for 10 - 15 minutes or until they taste right.

As usual, you are the nicest person to post those instructions again, Beth. Your ignoring my question, BTW, answered it for me. People, she got out of bed at 10:30 p.m. and made Dane homemade noodles for his homemade chicken soup!!!! Now THAT's love!

Me? I definitely plan to try making those noodles of yours one day so I have them saved in my Word folder containing recipes I save -- ones I write up for Brian so he has something to follow if he wants to make something I've always made for us, ones I copy and want to try, tips I've seen and recipes I've tried, ones I haven't tried, ones I loved but will probably never try, AND recipes and tips I've gotten here over the years. Those noodles, my dear are saved as "Homemade Egg Noodles for Chicken Soup" AND the file contains your sequence of pictures, too, so I have some help when I get around to trying them. Nothing like pictures -- not only do they help when making something, but just having them there makes something seem a bit less intimidating too.

Another one I saved with pictures is "Beth's Woven Bacon Instructions," which Brian and I will make together one day, as I plan on passing that task on to him. He's really gaga over the FoodSaver so the other day I reminded him we could seal made-up bacon weaves in FoodSaver bags in the freezer when we make some from a pound or two of bacon! Y'all would giggle, for sure, as when Brian likes an idea, his eyes light up and he gets this whimsical grin on his face -- it always make me laugh and always shows me I've got him hooked to whatever task I want him to make his own.

Some things I know I'll be looking for one day to make but will need to jog my memory to remember a recipe one of you posted are filed as, "Angel Food Cake (Beth's)." Sometimes I double-save a recipe under two names so I CAN'T ignore it later on down the road. Some I know start with "How," like How to Make a Box Cake Taste More Like Homemade! My big plans to conquer bacon more often take a backseat to good ol' box cakes. My favorite box mix cake has always been Duncan Hines but the grocery we shop at (Rouse's, a local chain now in several southern states) carries a store brand (I think it might be "Best") that sells cake mixes for under $1, about $.68 cents each, I think. And they're really good -- nice and moist and so we now usually have one of those cheapies in the cabinet, often a white, a yellow and a chocolate. Can't beat those prices if it's good.
