We took a road trip to this canyon, it's located near Page, AZ, closed to the border of Utah, it's about 330 miles a trip from our place, we went with a couple of close friend of us, we stayed a night at a motel in Page, the canyon is a Najavo tribe own, so we have to take a tour with them.

The tour takes us in to the slot inside the sand stone, water eroded the stones and formed various forms and sizes of rocks, so we went inside the canyon, took pictures of the rocks, the colors of the rock changes every second depend on the sunlight that goes into the slot, here are some of the pictures

It's a beautiful place, it was packed with people, lots of tourist from all over the world

OMG! What gorgeous photos, Imelda. Brian ooh'd and ahh'd right along with me when I showed them to him. What a beautiful place! Thanks so much for posting. Post some more if you have any, as I'd love to see them.

Thanks, too, for the lesson in how the rocks got that way. I hate to mention religion, as I know it's a touchy subject. But it's hard sometimes to fathom how some people don't believe in God, as surely God had a hand in creating our beautiful planet Earth!

Good Grief....how did I miss this post???

Amazing pics, Imelda! The sun light is perfect to show all the different colors in the rock.

It is quite a miracle that places like that still exist on our earth without some idiot scratching their initials in to spoil it for everyone behind them.

Thanks for sharing!

Isn't that the truth?!  It seems like the news is full of stories of such idiots recently.  I remember a couple of years ago some Boy Scout "leader" pushed over (it just took a little push!) a delicately perched boulder -- millions of years in the making -- in Utah's Goblin Valley State Park. Then he laughed, high-fived his son, and flexed his muscles for the camera while a fellow Boy Scout leader cheered him!  Of course, the idiots posted it on YouTube and it made its way to Facebook.  The best part was the idiots actually DEFENDED their actions when interviewed by a CNN affiliate by claiming they had done a good thing by pushing over a "precarious rock" that could have otherwise fallen on a passer-by.  Googled it and this is what the idiot said:  "That wasn't going to last very long at all," Hall has said, saying then he would "absolutely" support doing it again. "One gust of wind and a family's dead."

You wonder why they took the scouts to such a "dangerous" place, right?  The state park is referred to online as "a showcase of geologic history!" Here's some more info from the article:  Jeff Rasmussen, the deputy director of Utah State Parks and Recreation, said that in his 22 years on the job he hadn't heard of any goblins -- the moniker for the distinctive rock formation that Taylor toppled -- rolling off their pedestals. "Obviously, we're very concerned and upset that somebody would come and destroy this natural wonder that took millions of years to be formed," Rasmussen told KUTV.

The man and the idiot who filmed it (and who in the video referred to the man doing the toppling as "muscles") faced third degree felonies -- charges of criminal mischief and are accused of intentionally damaging, defacing and destroying property.  I sure hope the charges were pursued and these idiots punished, particularly since they continued to insist they did the world a favor!  The Boy Scouts did the right thing, though:  They not only dismissed those involved from their leadership roles with the Scouts but they threw them out of the Scouts entirely.

Oh, Imelda! Those were stunning photos. My favorites were the blue/purple ones. A couple of those as prints with wide white matting and simple thin black or wooden frames would look super in anyone's home. Very, very pretty and thank you so much for sharing. This place looks absolutely amazing...

Loved reading about your tour, Imelda. How cool that Dirk took the photography tour, too. If he posts HIS pictures anywhere, I sure would like to see a link for those. Your pics were indeed stunning so don't get me wrong; am just curious to see his, especially since he was alone and you were with so many other people. I can only imagine how hard it was to take good pics with all those people around you, To look at them, you'd have thought you were alone as well.

I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never even HEARD of Antelope Canyon! Just boggles your mind when you think of all the stunning places we have in this country that most people don't even know about, you know? I've never hiked in my life but it's been fun reading about how you and Dirk hike and his long hikes that he does alone. It's really cool that you've shared all this with us, too. Thanks so much!
