I figured I would get ready for the new Month!
It's a start. At least it's written down and ready to go.
Now for some serious thinking. February 2017, "What's Cooking for Dinner?" 1738318596

Uhhhh, I hate to mention it, Jimmy, but I remember when DD's beloved baby lab puppy arrived ~ he was SO cute but his FEET WERE HUGE! And a short time later he had grown into a GIANT. From the looks of those shoes the kid is going to start to be a strain on the grocery budget real soon!

LOL

He looks just about as happy as he can be!

My son ( grandpa ) calls him the HULK! .....
Our kids didn't have all the shoes this kid has!

He's on his way to the Mall for the first time with his mommy.
I'm sure he will sleep good tonight after all that experience.

I didn't feel like cooking so we went out.....I had fish & chips (haddock) and HE had a Gyro Platter. Good food, CHEAP drinks (vodka w/olives $2.50 each). I couldn't have cooked it for what we paid (Oh, and I had a $5 off coupon for the place).

Can't ask for anything better! And you didn't have to cook. That makes it way way better.

Tina ate junk fast food in business in the hospital, and trying to make it to bases with the nursing home and hospice services for Gabe. He is in last stage of life. Kinda hard to survive the norovirus and pneumonia and a heart attack, and at 93, expect to survive.

I had a can of mackerel and a hot dog roll.

Oh! ....and that package of ground beef! I made a bolognese sauce. It's cooking slowly, right now.

I threw together an old fashioned supper....no thought to SOMEBODY'S restrictive dietary requests ~ just made what I had and what sounded good to me.

Orange glazed ham, boiled WHITE potatoes and corn/bean/onion/bacon saute.

(Personally, I thought it was really good for a change. I didn't care what any other opinion might be.)

Tina went to the nursing home, and on the way back, she picked up some slices of pizza from Franks.  I had two onion, and one sausage. 2 Beers as a wash down.

Beth....the ham you made!..... "Superb!"

Nothing cooked.... what a mixed up day today, but it's all simmered down now.

Uncle Gabe ....with no pain, no suffering, passed away this morning 10:08 am.
Poor Tina, was on her way to the orthopedic doctors to have her knee looked at.
Past couple days she is in pain and swelling.
On the way there, she gets the bad news on her cell phone from the nursing home.
She had me make an afternoon appointment, while she ran to finalize at the home and at the funeral parlor.
She gets to the Dr. at 1:45 PM and there was a six car crash on the hill climbing out of the valley; knocked out the power, and the nurse said take aspirin, and just call begining of next week, and they will squeeze her in.

Anyway.... I see some tuna salad. I'll grab a 1/2 sandwich, and then later, I'm thinking of a BLT with cheese to swap for the bacon; with lots of mayo. L O T S!

Oh Jimmy, and Tina, I am so sorry for your loss-- especially Tina.. I know Gabe was not a wonderful boarder, but he was part of Tina's family.. a part of her family is gone. That is always a shock...and grief...

(((hugs))) to all of you....

Jimmy & Tina....I am so sorry for the loss of Gabe. I know he wasn't always pleasant in his old age but he was, at one time, a more sociable man. Prayers for him and thinking of you as you finalize according to his wishes. May he rest in peace and peace be with you, too.

I put together some taco fixin's for Taco Salad tonight.

Crunched up tortilla chips, refried beans, seasoned taco ground beef, chopped onions, sour cream, tomatoes, black olives and some chopped ice burg lettuce dressed with a combo of Taco Sauce and a bit of Catalina dressing to add a bit of sweetness to offset the heat.

It's "THAT TIME" of the year again!

I couldn't resist. They had a table set up outside the Winn Dixie ~ and two of them were wearing 'Thin Mint' Costumes! $4/box. Gotta love 'em!

Tina cooked a small pot of Kielbasi, and sauerkraut, with potatoes.

I had a small piece, but was wishing for one of those hot spicy Raman noodles soup.

I bought a bargain priced turkey for 49 cents a pound and cooked it yesterday in my turkey roaster. Love that turkey roaster! Even if my oven worked I would still use the turkey roaster. It frees up oven space and the turkey is so moist. I bought a 16 pounder and stripped of the meat and boiled up the carcass. I made 8 cups of turkey gravy this morning to freeze for my next turkey day. Never again will I try and make gravy the day I am cooking my turkey. Having it pre-made is just too easy. I am half tempted to buy another turkey and stow it away for the future.

I am a firm believer of that having the gravy made ahead of time. Nothing worse, than tyring to develop a gravy whilst everyone is screaming "GOT GRAVY?" bounce February 2017, "What's Cooking for Dinner?" 1450907917 February 2017, "What's Cooking for Dinner?" 1562938848
