Just going to three groceries is tiring enough but getting the meat ready for the freezer when you get home is killer. We often leave that to the next day and, luckily, Brian will usually do it for me. Like you, I'm spoiled, too!
I'm hurting today as I had a doctor's appointment yesterday at the huge complex that is Ochsner Hospital and Clinic out in Jefferson. Normally, I check in, then go to the lab for the blood draw my doctor requires (they process it and send results via computer to her prior to my appointment an hour or so later). But I got a call on Thursday confirming an appointment to get a Nuclear Lung Scan, which, of course, no one had told me about before, which appointment was squeezed in between the blood work and my cardiologist. The only problem was that the office to get it done in seemed to be buried in the bowels of the hospital; we walked, and walked and did more walking to get there. Brian made me laugh, as he said for them to put the office that deep into the back of the hospital, that the test must really hurt and the office placement is thus so others can't hear the screaming!!! Then, I found out I had to lay prone on my back while sliding in and out of this machine -- if you have broken vertebrae, the worst possible place to be is to be laying flat on your back. Thank goodness, I breathed the gas into my lungs deeply enough during the first "leg" of the test, so the part on my back went quicker than normal, or so said the lady doing the test.
We were both exhausted when we got home and, luckily, we had leftover Chinese food so we didn't have to cook. We ate an early dinner, had some ice cream and then called it an evening. I had a hard time getting comfortable and sleeping last night and this morning I was really in a lot of pain. I kept wondering why I hurt so badly and then I remembered all that walking we had to do! I'm really paying the price today. Would love to stay in bed all day but I know I'll eventually feel better if I get up and move around, even though it hurts so much in the beginning.
