Question: does anyone use a spaghetti fork for dishing out pasta?

We have one or two, and they get buried in the utensil drawer. It's good only for spaghetti. Not other macaroni shapes. But...Tina bought these things that are metal, like grabbers, and they have like a claw on each side, so perfect for any kind of spaghetti or macaroni shapes. Let me see if I can get a picture of one.

Here they are.... they are great!

I see 3. Are you talking about the rounded ones?

I have used a pasta fork before but thought it pretty useless, even with spaghetti. My metal tongs cut through the pasta. It never occurred to me to try silicone. Prolly 'cause I really don't care for silicone utensils, with the exception of a spoonula recommended by Cook's Illustrated. I love it so much I am going to buy another. I think I will give yours a try. Wish they didn't come in green. I don't like lime green.

Yes.... the rounded one. I'm not fond of the silicone either, but for just pulling from the spaghetti pot....they work good. Also they don't tear the spaghetti.
I'm sure they come in different colors. I hate lime green too! alien And I do not like wood. I never use wooden spoons or anything wooden. They suck up odors, and I will not stick a garlic infused spoon into any thing. My mother ( rest her soul ) had this wooden cutting board. That S o a B smelled like dead chicken pullet stink and she scrubbed it with steel wool pads. I could still smell the chicken skin on that darn pos board. We even bought her new wood cutting boards, but she still would not retire that chicken wood. When she died, that was the first thing to go in the trash! My brother laughed, and said,"Mom is gonna haunt you for that Jimmy!" March, 2016 ~ Dinners we made! - Page 18 3447731902

We have those lizards everywhere. The cats really like going after them when they go outside.

She's so cute! I remember her making scones with you and picking out her favorite apple rose. What a doll. What's her name again?

Beth, do you knead your scones before patting or rolling them into a shape? How thick do you make them? And one more thing: Do you cook yours touching or do you separate them? I've been collecting recipes -- your basic one included -- for not only sweet ones but savory ones, too. Got ready to make some the other day and the darn oven conked out again. But I have some time now to ask you some questions, as I know you make them often.

I used to do it but haven't done so in years. Made it with semolina and used an Atlas pasta maker. I should purchase one of those pulse motors for it as I always needed an extra set of hands so Brian would help me. We did NOT work well together making pasta which is why I stopped! Embarassed
