I was reading an article about Yorkshire Pudding and was surprised to learn that they are often made in one skillet like Dutch babies.

Dane had a doctor's appt. this morning he wanted me to go along with him....on our way home I suggested we stop for breakfast. $5 'special' ~ 2 eggs, potatoes, toast, fruit & coffee. He did get a side of bacon, but it really wasn't necessary for me. Now I'm stuffed and will probably skip lunch.

Yeah.....I'm going to try to start my day with some protein every day.

So, I made it for day '1'.

I'll probably have toast tomorrow.

((does butter count as protein???))

We have a champagne brunch in the building today. I, perhaps foolishly, volunteered to make 3 dozen individual crustless quiches. Eggs, yogurt, cheese, mushrooms, parley, red/yellow peppers.

I borrowed some ramekins and other small oven proof dishes, had quite a few myself. 24 are in the oven now, the other 12 will go in when these come out, and will be fresh for those people coming a little later.

I am the youngest and newest member of the Social committee here, and I am trying to bring a little change into the get-togethers here. Gotta tread lightly, though............... I hear many "We always did it this way!" As to youngest, I'm 71!

Well, my quiches were a very big hit............... except the 5 that I broke on my ceramic tile floor! The last tray had 8 ramekins, I was in a hurry, and crash boom bang! Ceramic on ceramic is not very forgiving. Five of the dishes broke, two only dumped the contents among the mess of shards, and quiche, and one remained safe and sound. But it all worked out, there were three left over, I gave them to a gentleman who has celiac disease, and he was so appreciative because they are gluten free. His wife asked me for the recipe.

I think that when I do them again in such numbers, I will use foil cups.

Next on the agenda for the building is a Valentine's Day tea with food that goes totally against my idea of sandwiches. I am making cucumber and watercress sandwiches. Disgusting white bread with crusts cut off. Give me a Reuben on great dark bread any time!

However, apparently other people like them. It will be a learning experience for me. We all need to step out of our comfort zone sometimes, right??

Congratulations on the success of your quiches! It's always nerve-wracking, hoping others will like a recipe as much as you do. Sorry for the accident, but, hey, happens to all of us. At least you had enough for all to enjoy. And I agree with your thoughts on using the foil pans next time ~ no breakage and they can be tossed at the end of the event.

Barb ~ your scones always turn out SO light and tall! Sounds like a tasty combination to me (although a certain Mr. would turn up his nose.....). Of course, I wouldn't make them for him! LOL

Nice work, my friend, nice work.....

Jimmy here, with being in pain and all ( hhahahahahahaha ) cooked a three egg omelet, and with ham / cheese / mushrooms / and green onions.
Tina had some with no toast, and I had 2 slices of whole grain bread toast with mine, and tabasco sauce.
It is so hard trying to cook and using a cane to move around in the kitchen. Grrrrrr!
Well, it was all worth it, and my belly is full, and happy. Now to the recliner with my heating pad.

That might be one day soon. I did buy a stool and the dang thing is useless. If I sit on it my knees are to close to the range. So I get up.Plus it is not on wheels and can not be pushed back..So I just sit down in a chair or sofa till I can get back up and stand.I have a friend who lost a leg and he use a wheelchair to get around the kitchen and he does all the cooking.???
