I had some of the London Broil left over from last night and I pulled it out to use for a sandwich for lunch.....suddenly an 'old standard' came to mind, something I've not made or eaten for years. Ground meat sandwich ~ when I was a kid my mom would grind leftover steak (in our house, rare grilled chuck steak was 'steak' ~ no such thing as rib eye or strip steak). She ground it using an old crank type grinder that was secured to the cupboard top. If you didn't grind leftover chuck steak you might as well have just tossed it out the back door for the cats to fight over, it was SO tough.

But, since I don't have a crank grinder anymore (and I'm not going to pull out my KitchenAid attachment for a tiny bit of leftover meat) I just cut it into small bits and tossed it into my mini chop. As long as I didn't let it process too long it was good, not pulsed to a puree for sure. I added some finely minced celery and onion and then mixed in a tiny bit of sweet pickle relish and my MiracleWhip. OMG, what a blast from the past!

(copied from the end of October, 2015 because (obviously) I don't know what the date is.....LOL)

OK, fess up. Did you spoon that salad on the romaine and eat like a lettuce wrap like I would? Boy, I love eating with my fingers!

That looks really good. (I see you got to use up some of those leftover grapes....)

I made a coconut cream pie for breakfast.....LOL

Well, actually, I made the pie for one of the neighbors. His wife asked me to make it for her husband as it is his favorite pie of all time and she's alergic to coconut. As soon as it's cool I'll take a pic (if I remember) and post it in the other section. I made a little baby pie for the neighborhood handyman.

And I was really proud of myself. Nothing left here for me to splurge on ~ all I did was take one small taste to be sure it was sweetened just right. When it's cool I'll take it down the street and deliver and then there will be no temptation staring me in the face.

interesting.....you only blitzed half of it until smooth and left the rest chunky.

good idea (as in:  'why didn't I think of that?')

I did not eat this morning so now I am hungry as heck..

Chicken salad. Yuck crackers I bought and took one bite and tossed them..

But you don't need any crackers with the rest of what you have....

You've been fortunate to get nice tomatoes for much of the season. All I can find are the ones with the green icky stuff. Nasty. No tomato taste.

((didn't your pups get mad at you for eating THEIR lunch??? Hahahahaha!))

Low carb crackers taste really really bad.I threw them out..

Harris Teeter has some decent tomato.salting them helps lol

publix has taken over Fla.They are so overpriced all I do is SMH and lmao. I have not stepped foot in mine for a very long time. I go to the drive up for my meds..

I have 2 HT right by me. They offer so much more then just great sales . They have Starbucks in store. Pizza shop. Best dang olive and cheese bar.
You can order your grocerys online and drive right up and they load it in your car. They even have a delivery service.
Sometimes I get aggravated I can not find a place to park close , but that makes them great, to have parking for pregnant and with small children and veterans parking and handicap plenty..They have those carts for special need folks.

Just a awesome store ,,I am so happy to shop there...

Oh and I was going to have oatmeal but I got sidetracked ..HA.

The other day, Tina bought these new egg cheese and sausage on a waffle bun of some sorts from MacDonalds ......for 6 workers that were installing the siding on the house. Well.... there were leftover sandwiches. Those buns are awful tasting and so sweet.
I ripped out the eggs and sausage, and threw the buns away.
Today, I had a Whole grain English muffin with egg and the leftover sausage patty. It was great!

I don't know where they dream't up that sandwich, but I never, ever eat syrup on eggs. Yuck!!

thank you Norm.. it was good, they were gone in a day, no leftover for the next day, Dirk snacked them every time he went in the kitchen, so that day he went to the kitchen a lot lol!

today I made some sausage buns, using Jimmy Dean sausage for the filling, they were good, Dirk added some cheese and melted them, then spread some horseradish on top of them ( I know...weird Smile

Your breads are always such an inspiration!

Have you made your salami & cheese pinwheel muffins lately? I keep saying I'm going to make them but have never gotten around to giving them a try. Last time I looked at your blog and the instructions you made it look SOOOOooo easy. And I'll bet they would go over really good at one of our 'Patio Parties' where we all take a dish to share.

Easy Peasy one here. Haven't made this in ages.
We buy that Bigford ? Bickford ? frosen bread loafs..... thaw and then roll out in a 13 x 9 pan...
layer slicing pepperoni and mozzarella and provolone slices, sprinkle a little oregano, then roll it up.
Seam edge down, bake 375 F till browned. Wait till room temp, and cut cut cut slices.
Eat eat eat.....some nice drinks to slush it down...... ummmmmm!!!!!!

We do it with breaded eggplant too!
