Well, yesterday we had the hot dogs, so today we will attack the Brats. Probably with the remaining sauerkraut.

I will make a small batch of potato salad, and I will make a nice tomato salad.

Yes, you can have a nice tomato salad....great with cucumbers & onions.

It's nice to see you thinking about what you should be eating. Great will power & self control (both attributes I seem to be sorely lacking......)

Well, cheesecake is kinda low carb....If you make it crustless and sugarless.

Wouldn't be that way at my house, but, hey....I'm not a cheesecake fan anyway. Mr. Amazing is, but for all he eats he gets to order it when we go out. No way am I making a whole cheesecake just to watch him eat one piece.

(then I'd have to slap the rest on my tush & wrap myself in Saran Wrap ~ that's where it would eventually end up!)

I am going to make it..Full fat and with sugar. I will have one slice.Make it a big slice lol. Then off it goes next door.I have frozen slices before too.  I am not going to get my self in that downward place that not having something good to eat gets to me. Moderation is key. They at the nursing home had my Mom on a diet ..Why? Gripes she was 81..She had great food all her life,so I took her homemade and some things she liked.Like Wendys chili lol.I figure on eslice of something good will not kill me.. geek

You can eat all that, they say, but as long as it is in moderation.

Moderation for us is, not a whole cheese cake.....but only a half at a sitting. LOL

OK... I'm stuck, so I will ask the pro's.

Got a pack of fresh Okra. I want it fried. Ok to bread it? Cut them? I'm clueless.

Ooops! Slap my mouth for adding it to here, but I want this for supper.
I would like to bread or batter dip them.

Cut into about 1" chunks.  I used flour, then buttermilk and then flour/cornmeal - seasoned.  Then into fryer.

Just cook until lightly browned.  Salt lightly when you take out of the oil.

Pot roast is always so good. The kale in the mashed potatoes is like an Irish Colcanon (sp?), where they add cabbage in with the potatoes. Kale is definately one of my favorites ~ I had some Zuppa Toscana soup at Olive Garden Restaurant today for lunch. It's Italian Sausage, Potato & Kale soup. So very good. They don't let the kale cook until it's mushy, just wilted.

Lyn & I went out for a late lunch after my water exercise class....stopped at Olive Garden for soup & salad.

We went to Fresh Market and they had different kinds of grapes. I tasted one of the 'Cotton Candy' grapes ~ YUCK! They taste exactly like cotton candy. I thought they were awful. Sure am glad I didn't buy a package!

Later we also stopped at the local WalMart and I told Lyn about the Jazz apples I've been getting. Now THOSE, I really like. They are crisp and sweet-tart....well, more sweet than tart, but not as sweet as, say, a red delicious. They stay crisp in the refrigerator and are our go-to snack before bed.

What do you do?

It's 45 minutes of aerobic and flexibility exercises in a 4' pool of water. I had difficulity when I tried some of the other exercise classes because of the arthritis in my hips. I just couldn't take the pain. Everyone said to just walk, but that's what makes me hurt the most. But by doing the exercising in water it takes the pressure off your joints. It's mainly a way to keep the flexibility in your body. Probably 25% of those attending have had one or more joints replaced. One lady has had both knees and both shoulders replaced in the last 4 years and she's there in the water 3 times a week.

I go with my neighbor, JoAnn. She's 80 years old this year and is a former tap dancer....I mean, SERIOUS tap dancing. Her knees and back give her all kinds of problems so the water exercise is excellent for her to stay moving. She's facing back surgery soon so she wants to keep her muscles in tone so she'll recover better.

It's kind of embarassing for me because I'm not the most physically coordinated person in the world. JoAnn taught tap for years and doesn't loose her place in the series of exercises like I do. But, hey, as long as I keep moving something, whether it's the right way or not, I'm still exercising. It's more activity than I'd get sitting in front of the computer or TV! LOL
