We are going to have enchiladas tonight. Everyone except for me. I just lost my appetite after seeing Bruce Jenner as a woman on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. He actually is attractive but knowing the she is really a he is hard to take in. LOL! What a boring world this would be if everyone was "normal".

I made sukiyaki for dinner tonight. Some versions have you cook everything at the table like fondue but this one I cooked on the stove.

I just saw the tv showing of the man-she. Looks like Janes head, on Tarzans body.
I wouldn't want to get kicked with one of those legs, or butted with one of those knees. I wouldn't want to be near anything like that "IT".....

it's been a while since my last post, I did not do serious cooking lately, too hot and lazy to get busy in my kitchen, yesterday we had steak, Dirk grilled on the wood fire, and it was so good. so juicy and tender, and I made some Hasselback Potatoes, using microwave, it took me 10 minutes to cook them and 5 minutes extra to broil them.. so good

looks good Imelda....

Never had potatoes like that.... they look good.

I just had a couple hand fulls ( yes, hands full picked up, and shoved in mouth like a cupcake ) of pierogi that Tina boiled and buttered. Mrs. T's Brand.

I don't' like hasselback potatoes, not because they aren't good but because they sound too much like hasselbeck as in Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

Wasn't she born in Cranston RI?
Mom told me I was fertilized there. LOL.... can you imagine that.
That's a great thing actually knowing your place of fertilization.
Dad was in Navy Explosives Demolition school there in Rhode Island in 1943 / 44
Mom was with him during that training..... I guess I was an egg waiting to get whacked with the bat! Embarassed

I was conceived in La Jolla, CA. My father's first production after being exposed to fallout from H-bomb testing. Apparently I am considered a mutant and am made up of altered junk DNA. All those men that were exposed also produced children with altered DNA. It would be interesting to know exactly what genes and chromosomes were affected.

What can I make for dinner that takes very little effort? Maybe grilled cheese. I am dragging my hind-end today. We went to a Robert Plant concert last night at the Greek Theater in L.A.. What a lovely venue! It is nestled in the hills and there was this huge harvest moon sitting above the pine trees. Since my DH just had knee surgery we decided to purchase "quick park" parking for $50. I almost passed out but it was worth it. Quick park is parking in the middle of the street and somehow we got lucky and we parked right in front of the entrance, about 50 feet away. What luxury!
Traffic was bad going up to the venue: it took 2 hours. It took only 45 minutes to get home. It was about midnight and DH and Roomie decided they were hungry so we stopped at In-N-Out and DH had a double-double with raw onions. At midnight! I was sure it was going to "lay on his chest" and I would have to nurse him through a bad case of GERD. I went to bed at 1:30AM and got up at 5AM. Couldn't sleep. I guess it will be a nap day.
What is it that people are smoking today? It isn't mara-hootchie but something that smells like burning catnip or skunk. People were smoking it at the concert. I did get a whiff or two of the old MJ.

Had 2 knockworsht .... grilled. Ate them with hot mustard and buns. Cookies for dessert plus a slice of marble pound cake.

Tina had left over meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Uncle had sliced chicken breast from a rotisserie chicken.

Nice, huh? .... just like being at a diner.

Yeah! ...... lets go to July 4th 1961... and there is Jimmy sitting at the picnic table on the cement patio.... Got the picture so far? .... ok
don't laugh! .... There I am, eating a tomato salad. Not in a bowl nice and fancy. Just on a placemat of old newspaper, and there I am sawing through a big tomato with my front teeth, and ripping off the fist skin to pour salt onto. There I am, spitting that first skin onto the paper, and with the saltshaker, I dust some salt, and take a HUGE Bite out of the tomato....then more salt, and more bites.
Then the stem end gets flipped out, and a grab for another tomato! .....

Sometimes another....and another! .... Now I'm so thirsty. Gee, I wonder why??
Maybe the salt huh?? ..... I run to the fridge in the cellar kitchen, and grab a Quart of Orange Soda Pop! Nice and cold, I finish the whole quart! .....

I jump off the bench, and fling my Fat axx onto the hammock. And there I am, catching flys, mouth wide open and taking a nice nap. Wake up hungry as a horse......and looking for something to eat. AGAIN!!!!

Firstly.... woo woo wow! Norms meatloaf looks awesome....

I was totally amazed today. Tina actually made a great meal....
Chicken fried steak... Wide egg noodloes with butter. and Stovetop Stuffing.
Then... store bakery blueberry pie. AND.... raisin bran and corn muffins.

It was such a pleasure to let someone else cook. I was messing around with car repairs and oil changes today....so it was like me going back to work, and Tina playing Housewife again.

DH brought home some carne asada quesadillas and soft tacos on his way home from the doctor. I couldn't eat it because it was too spicy. I really miss eating Mexican food.

Of all the indignities! I went outside early this morning and sat down in a chair to enjoy the fresh air. I sat on a bee and got stung on the ass. OUCH! My pants and underwear went flying off outside (I hope there weren't any neighbors looking out their windows). I ran into the house, pulled out the jug of ammonia, and applied some to the sting. It helped with the pain but not the allergic reaction. My hands and mouth start itching. I have been using a hairbrush to scratch for the last 45 mins. It usually takes about 2 hours for the symptoms to go away. What a way to start the day.
