Probably like a mild chili without the dog. I could do that.

We were always Beans and Onions Lovers.
Brother and I used to open a can of Pork & Beans..... Throw out the hunk of fatty pork ( I eat it now ) and heat up the beans, then cut an onion in quarters, and separate the layers. Then we would use the scoops as a spoon, and eat the beans with the onion scoops. (*Burp*)..... Oh Yeah!
The perfect recipe for Methane Gas> and growing up when 21....a few beers with that would make it Atomic Methane Gas!!.... LOL...

Supper today will be Medium Shells with Kidney Beans and Onions fried.

Love when the beans spoon with the shells, or even better, when the shells spoon with each other.

A simple meal, and it's like pop corn.....you can't just eat a little.

Tonight will be Buckeye burgers: burger, grilled onions, applewood bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and bbq sauce. I don't know what roomie is going to think. She may turn up her nose at it.

Last year I bought a used chair from a woman out in Studio City. She was a television producer, had a disabled sister living with her, and had a dog rescue thing going on. I just saw on the news this morning that she was arrested for murder in the death of her sister and 3 dogs. Seems the suicide note didn't look kosher to the cops. I thought she was a bit odd when I met her, but I thought it was because she came across as gay to me. Now I own a chair that once belonged to a suspected murderer. Ain't life grand?

scary, crazy things happen around us now

I have some Cod fillets, I'm planning to cook them tomorrow for fish Friday, I don't want to fry them ( though I love fried fish very much, but don't want to got through frying process, not enough clean oil too ), so I'm thinking of baking them, any idea how to bake/broil delicious crunchy fish?

Dirk and I both love rice noodles, either to make soup or pan fry them, they are very popular in Asian Foods, today I pan fried them, I used Pad Thai Noodles recipe, I added thinly sliced beef, fried tofu, eggs, sliced Chinese broccoli, bean sprouts, topped with cilantro, green onion, fried shallots, roasted peanuts and lots of my homemade chili sauce, Dirk was good with dash of Tabasco, he can't handle the heat of my chili sauce Very Happy

There is something about men and donuts. My DH finds them irresistible. I think he might be able to eat a dozen in one sitting if he wanted to but I am sure he would feel pretty ill for a while.

Oh, man, yer killin' me....

I can no longer eat those wonderfully light and fluffy donuts. I use to love 'em.

But the yeast stays active in my system and about 45 minutes to an hour after I eat one I am bloated up like a balloon (and NOT a balloon with a smiley face, I might add....). Oh, such pain! So, now, even though the smell is enticing and I know the flavor will be so, SO good....not for me.

**********************

Barb - your short ribs came out fabulous. Now that's a meal I could enjoy for sure! It looks like you cooked them to perfection.

Yes, Jimmy, our country clubs are mostly VERY casual. Last night two couples came in from the pool in conservative bathing cover-ups (looked like dresses but still wearing their bathing suits) and the men in long trunks & t-shirts.

Some of the other country clubs (Arnold Palmer & Nancy Lopez) are a bit more up-scale, but golf attire is always accepted. Let's face it, most people here are from an age when you did not attempt to go to a restaurant in bare feet and shirtless (for men....don't even go there ~ I KNOW what you were going to say!).

OK, let's see what this does:

Faux Applebee's Oriental Chicken Salad.....I just love that I don't even have to do any more than google the dressing to come up with a reasonable one.
