I had a green bell pepper that needed using up.
I sliced it lengthwise, and fried the pieces slowly.
Drained off the oil and liquid....then dropped sliced provalone cheese to melt and when cooled to room temp. I made sandwiches using hot dog buns. OMG they were so good!

You should hear poor Tina Burping in the back room!....

Then we had a vanilla ice cream cone. Tina didn't like it. It was Friendlies and she said it was not yellow enough. ??????? I don't know what that means?

That means there wasn't enough egg yolk to make a good looking custard....

Thanks Beth.... You are right, because when we Make ice cream...Tina uses like 4 yolks. That makes the yellow she is wanting.

Laptop going back tomorrow . This thing is so messed up.SLOW SLOW. My photobucket runs amuck .it is slow to open,then when I go to my pics to download the page flys up and down fast. Took me 45 minutes to find the pic then to download then to find it on PB to get the code to post here.

Did you bake bread again?

I got as far as buying better flour than the a/p I had in the cupboard. It just sits on the countertop waiting for me to actually do something with it.

Not this week, though. Too much other stuff to plan.

yes I did.I put flour in the freezer.Think it was Norm said it will kill any unwanted guests .Plus IDK but it stays good for a long time.I have loads of frozen flour in my outside freezer.

Yes Barb. It was Norm that said to freeze the flour for like 4 or 5 day's, and then you could take it out, and put it in your containers, and bugs won't grow.

We do that all the time if like say, Tina buys two 5 Lb. bags for baking. We put one in the freezer, and as long as the one bag is being used within a reasonable time (such as Christmas cookies ), then we are sure that that second bag won't be buggy.

I have some leftover boiled potatoes and carrots from yesterday, today I blended them with some of the broth and added some milk, topped with Parmesan cheese and chive, toasted 2 buttered sourdough breads, for D's brunch today, ah he loves it Very Happy

Interesting....something I might make for a patio party (although, with the cheese, I'd forgo eating it myself). But it looks like something a lot of people would enjoy.....

Corn and Tomato Pie

3 T olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
5 ears of corn, kernels cut off
1 tsp salt
black pepper
1 deep dish, pre-baked pie crust
1/2 c grated Cheddar cheese
2-3 large tomatoes, sliced
1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese
3 scallions, chopped
1/4 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled (optional)
3 large eggs
1/2 c milk
1/2 c heavy cream

Preheat oven to 375F.

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Saute onions in olive oil until onions just begin to turn translucent, 5-7 minutes. Throw in garlic the last minute. Add corn kernels and cook, about 8 minutes.

Stir in salt and pepper. Pour half of the corn mixture with the crumbled bacon into pie crust. Scatter cheddar cheese evenly on top. Add remaining corn mixture. Top with tomatoes, in an even layer, then Parmesan cheese and scallions.

In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and cream. Pour over tart.

Cover with foil Bake 30 minutes on a baking sheet. Remove foil, and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until tart is golden brown, and center is set.

Let rest 1 hour before slicing.
