Barb, that looks incredible! I have never even heard of chicken strudel. Copy and paste your recipe and will give it a try next week.

Another day at the beach for DH. He will be home late so it will be honey bbq wings from Costco with a pasta salad.

I think I finally found a recipe for a near perfect chocolate chip cookie. It is from The Food Lab and has just the right amount crunch and chew.

That sounds good. I may drive 45 minutes  and go to Costco.I always buy way to much stuff. I had planned on making CCC myself..I ate the bag of chips instead "DINNER" ... ((FEBRUARY 2015 )) - Page 10 2876911673 .

Well I had no recipe,I have made fruit strudel so I pretty much winged it. I had the sauce recipe , I do not like canned soup for it BUT you could use it I guess.I also have chicken pulled and bagged so I used that.I had planned on using the filo for something else but it worked out ok..

Very inventive, Barb....impressive. Love the sauce over the crispy phylo strudel.

Great job!

My mom had the best recipe for choc chip cookies! We always called them Tollhouse Cookies. I do not know if it is the one on the back of the package or not. She added some chopped peanuts to it also. They are thin, but sooo chewy!! My mom had a habit of 'tweaking' recipes.

After about 15 years, I found the recipe and made a batch for Christmas. I forgot how much I loved them. I did not want to give them away! I saved most of them for myself....
I OD'd on them....cannot find anything near to them in the store....

I think I have tried dozens of recipes for CC cookies and this one is the closest to perfect so far. A little more complicated than the usual recipe but that is ok if the results are good. The worst part of making cookies is forming the dough balls. For some reason I hate doing it.

Bugs... I hate making the balls with anything such as meatballs / matzo balls  / etc.
I bought us a ccomplete set of scoop ballers. 2 inch...1-1/2" ... 1"...3/4" and even 1/2" inch... They were not cheap; like 5 bucks each, but we love them.
DD ( The one with behavior issues ) uses them when she makes cookies, and she loves them. At least there are no cookies flying against the wall if she gets in a fit of rage.  "DINNER" ... ((FEBRUARY 2015 )) - Page 10 2787578702

I love them too. My meatballs have to be all the same size.  lol!  lol!

I'm sure you had seen them bugs....you scoop and squeeze the handle, and the wiper inside scrapes the filling / whatever, and drops on the cookie sheet.

I own a whole set of different sizes. I still think it is a pain.

This time I just used a spoon and a scale. The dough had to sit overnight in the fridge and even though I brought it to room temp, was still very stiff and impossible to use with a scoop. I ball up the dough, throw it into a Ziplock bag and throw it into the freezer and pull out what I need, which is about 6 cookies at a time.

I had a meal I could not eat.
Liver and onions, and yes.....I love liver!..
Problem was, it had been vacuumed calves liver, dated 2013. Tina soaked it in milk, and made as she always does. I just could not chew it. It was like eating Liver Jerky.

I ate noodles and spinach. Ring Dings for dessert.

That's ok. Tina is gonna buy me fresh beef liver next week and make it.

I too, cooked a meal I could not eat: wild Scottish salmon with an herbed wine sauce. DH and roomie were in heaven eating it. I don't like fish. I steamed some artichokes, slathered on some Caesar dressing and grilled those. They were edible.
My DH brought home some awful looking alcoholic beverage. It came in a tall thin bottle. It was Koolaid purple and has something in it that made it shimmer. It tasted like vodka and grape Koolaid. I almost gagged but DH and roomie finished the bottle.

Bugster, I got my starter from King Arthur many years ago.

Charlie got some stuff for bulgogi but didn't make any tonight. I totally ad libbed at the last minute and made noodles and a white sauce with shrimp. I was going to make alfredo but forgot to add the cheese. I did add some lobster flavored Better The Bullion though.

Roomie won't eat farm raised with color added salmon. She read something about it that turned her off. Out here it is either Alaskan or Scottish wild caught. I got one of those Amazon coupons where you get $40 for $20 on meat and seafood. Pretty good price 'cause the salmon was normally $17/lb.
